Dear Colleagues,

It is that time of the year again – planning your trip to the annual Orthopaedic Congress in September!

We, the Congress Committee from Cape Town, have put together a diverse and interesting programme and invite you to join us for the 54th SAOA Congress being held from the 1st until the 5th of September 2008 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Coming to the Cape Town meeting will give you the best of both worlds!

We have put together an excellent academic programme including Instructional courses on shoulder and elbow, as well as foot and ankle surgery.

On the Friday we will host the international and local faculties for an AO trauma symposium.

Various trade sponsored workshops will also take place. Our invited guest speakers are former Capetonian Dr Chris Coetzee from Twin Cities in the USA and Dr Joe Dias from Leicester in the UK.

The social and partners’ programmes promise unlimited pleasure in the beauty of the Cape, including outings to see the West Coast’s spring carpet and Stellenbosch’s culture. Do not miss the combined outing to Riebeeck Kasteel to experience the Valley’s wines and olives.
