Visit to Didima Rock Art Centre and Lunch at Cathedral Peak Hotel

“The Didima San Art Centre provides the visitor with an opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage for which these surrounding mountains are famous. A visit to the centre leads the visitor on a journey of discovery, using the significance of the eland in San Art culture as a theme that threads its way through the experience.”
  • Times: Depart from the CSR at 09h00 (after the opening address) and return to the CSR mid-afternoon

Half Day tour to the Ardmore Pottery Studio with a weaving demonstration and tea & scones.

  • Times: depart CSR at 09h00 and return to the CSR at latest 12h00

We have 2 options today:

OPTION 1 - CLARENS

Guided tour by Coach to Clarens and Lunch at Clementines Restaurant.

Clarens is situated in the Clarens Valley is in the Eastern Free State Highlands about 20 km’s from Golden Gate, 40 km’s from Bethlehem and on the Northernmost point of Lesotho. Clarens is known for its spectacular sandstone mountains and wonderful climate, it is one of the most picturesque spots in South Africa. It has also recently been acclaimed as having some of the best Trout Fishing waters in South Africa.
  • Times: depart CSR at 08h00 and return to the CSR at approx 17h00 – Note – Clarens is a 3 hour drive there and a 3 hour drive back
  • Dress code: casual dress with comfortable shoes. Please also bring hat and suntan lotion

OPTION 2 – WINE BLENDING

Wine blending – onsite at Champagne Sports Resort (afternoon activity) Using original handcrafted wines for the introductory tasting, guests create their own blend from 3 different cultivars and bottle their own blend. The bottle will have a personalized label and you will be able to take it home.
  • Times: 14H00-17H00 onsite at CSR.
