WORKSHOPS/INSTRUCTIONAL COURSES

Workshops/Instructional courses and Parallel sessions will be available to registered delegates. The workshops will be held on Wednesday 3 September from 07h00-10h00. Please see the programme for details and for venue details. The Auditorium 1 (plenary ) and the parallel venue (Meeting rooms 1.41-1.44 ) will be used for Instructional courses, workshops and parallel sessions.

HOSPITALITY SUITES

There are 2 hospitality suites at the Congress and these will be situated within the Exhibition area in the Ballroom

  • Glaxo Smith-Kline has Hospitality Suite 1
  • Stryker has Hospitality Suite 2
  • The Hospitality Suites will provide free use of the
  • Internet for delegates to check their emails during Congress hours

    CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

    CPD points will be allocated according to the rules and regulations of the Health Professions Council of South Africa. All delegates will need to scan for their CPD points daily.

    REGISTRATION FEE is inclusive of the following:

  • Participation in the scientifi c sessions
  • Poster viewing – posters will be exhibited in the
  • Auditorium 1 foyer area from Monday until Thursday
  • Entrance to the Trade Exhibition Hall
  • Conference programme at a glance
  • Programme & Abstract book
  • All lunches, teas & coffees
  • Invitation to the welcome Cocktail Party with snacks, limited drinks and entertainment
  • Invitation to the social evening - The R100-00 fee for the Social Evening is a token fee to confi rm at tendance and to obtain the access card


  • Please bring your access card as proof of payment and to gain entry space is limited so please book early!

  • Invitation to the Gala dinner – The R150-00 fee for the Gala dinner is a token fee to confi rm attendance and to obtain the access card


  • Please bring your access card as proof of payment and to gain entry. Space is limited so please book early!

  • Golf and winetasting - (excludes the R150 token fee for attendance of the wine tasting afternoon)


  • WORKSHOPS

    Workshop submissions
    • The date of the Workshops is Wednesday 3 September – The format of the workshops will depend on the number of workshop submissions


    • There will be no other Scientific, Parallel or Instructional courses taking place during the time allocated to the workshops


    • Each workshop time will be 50 minutes (to allow for change over)


    • The procedure for the acceptance of workshops (due to high demand) will be done on a similar basis to Abstract submissions


    • All companies are expected to send in their workshop submissions to tracey@icesolution.co.za

    • In order to be considered for acceptance, all workshop submissions must comply with the guidelines below. These detailed guidelines will also be posted to the SAOA website www.saoa.org.za 


    • In order to assess the suitability for inclusion in the Workshop programme, the Organising committee will subject all workshop submissions to an evaluation process
    • The review of Workshop submissions will take place continuously and notification of the status of the submissions will be emailed to you within 3 (three) weeks after the cut-off date for submissions

    4. Please use Arial font type and size 11 and single spacing


    5. Type the title(s) and company name in CAPITAL LETTERS, followed by the name(s) of the presenter, with their title and initial(s)


    6. Please include a brief description of the workshop content in your submission


    7. The duration of the workshop to be no longer than 50 minutes


    8. The price per workshop is R11 000


    9. The above price includes the venue hire and standard conference equipment per session


    10. Please note that no fax submissions will be accepted


    11. All presenters (local or international) presenting at Workshops, do not automatically qualify to present at scientific sessions. Should a presenter wish to present at any of the Scientific sessions they will need to submit Abstract/s to the Organising committee as per the normal regulations


    12. The Organising committee strongly encourages the trade to apply for CPD accreditation for the Workshops
